FAQs: Alabama EVV Implementation

Indiana Medicaid for Providers will open a Customer Service Center in June of 2019. If you have any questions, you can email the department directly at EVV@fssa.in.gov.

Providers may choose to use an EVV solution other than Sandata; however, providers will still be required to export data from their selected system to Sandata’s “Aggregator” for integration with CoreMMIS. More details are available at https://www.in.gov/medicaid/providers/1005.htm.

Currently, the Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) has developed the Service Codes that require Electronic Visit Verification document to identify services that will be subject to EVV requirements. At present, the document includes applicable codes for personal care services. Applicable home health care codes will be added once they have been determined.

Home care service providers that require EVV must use EVV to be reimbursed by the IHCP for services rendered to members. If the EVV data is not collected, care providers will not be reimbursed for the claim.

An annual provider fee to support the Statewide EVV system is under consideration. Home care agencies who are using EVV-based software solution as per the State’s technical specifications and are approved as EVV vendors can continue to use their EVV systems. The State’s system will aggregate EVV data from both the State-contracted vendor (Sandata) and approved third-party vendors.
